“Weekly Roundup” is a weekly series featuring events and resources for coping with anxiety, depression and other related disorders. Got ideas? Submit via comments or wordpress.ruthann@gmail.com.
In my quest to engage readers, I found organizations that offer workshops and webinars in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Anxiety and Depression Center Webinars
Anxiety and Depression Center offers series of CBT webinars for depression, anxiety and other mood disorders. Granted, their last webinar was December 2012, but that makes it no less relevant. Included are also slides from workshops in past months and years. The Anxiety and Depression Center is also in California, and you need to be a patient to access the slides. If you think it’s worth your time, effort and money, check it out.
Want some free stuff? The Anxiety and Depression Center also provides links to free guided meditations on iTunes. Listening to the nine minute “Loving Kindness” meditation, I felt a tingling warmth making my organs, tissues, bones and limbs melt into the love seat.

Sound good? If not, there are other sources to choose from including breathing meditation, meditation for working with difficulties, body scan and more.
Anxiety and Depression Association of America Conference (ADAA)
Now here’s something a little more timely. The ADAA is hosting Anxiety and Depression Conference 2014, March 27-30. The conference is aimed at teaching trained physicians about new techniques for treating patients with anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD and other related disorders.
Just because it’s for clinicians doesn’t mean patients can’t attend for a chance to be enlightened on these new strategies. Register here, and hurry!
National Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week
Even though it’s still early, here’s a friendly reminder about National Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week, May 4-10 this year. During this week, you will be able to host a workshop with materials ordered here. For the cost of $30, registrants may order DVDs, forms, posters and a CD-ROM to help you run the event. Register here to host an event and buy the resources.
If you a NADAW event your town, check it out and let me know how it went via comments in a post submission at wordpress.ruthann@gmail.com. If you want it published in my blog, let me know.

Did I miss something? Don’t be afraid to post it in the comments for all to see. Suggestions are not only helpful to me, but to fellow readers, as well.
